Summer Camp Sum Up 7th June 2008
The highlight of the camp was a sum up performance event and art exhibition, which gave the community of Kakatiyanagar the chance to come together on one rooftop and watch the children exhibit their talent on stage.
The camp also raised awareness of the work of Aashray- Home away from Home and highlighted the needs of children within their own neighbourhood. In the following weeks, the community came forward in support of the children's shelters that had participated by donating four bags of clothes including school uniforms. Teenagers from the local private school got together to pool their pocket money and sponsored a day of special treats and lunch in Aashray- a totally unexpected initiative.
